We ended up having an impromptu banner raid when 8 Solo dancers showed up at the Lake Erie Square’s dance on 4/05. Thanks to Don, Betsy, Jan, Ron, Bill and Terry for signing in as Solo’s so that with Barb and I it made the banner raid possible.

A successful Banner Raid of Medina on 4/4
Eight Solo dancers danced to Dick Mackey at Medina Squares on 4/4/2014 and since they did not have our banner (my mistake) we had a successful Banner Raid. The dancers from Solo’s that raided were Sherrie, Beverly, Jeff, Bert, Don, Shelby, Barb and me. At one time there were 5 squares up and dancing and a couple of Medina students trying their hand at a dance

I guess that there were a lot of celebration of valentines day on Friday 2/14 as we had only 2 squares dancing to Gene Hammond. Many thanks to the Brecksville club as they supplied a little more then 1 square in their banner raid. We all had a good night with Gene challenging us with some calls and formations that required us to think and not dance on auto-pilot. Frankie also gave our dancers who wanted to line dance some exercise. Carolyn supplied a beautiful valentine cake for our cakewalk.
Successful banner raid at Circulators
With January 18th being Tom Strickland’s birthday the solo’s surprised him by showing up at Circulators for his dance and consequently had a successful banner raid. Thanks to Gary, Carolyn, Susan, Spanky, Betty, Marilyn, Norm, Sherrie, Beverly, Caroline, Frank, Barb and Bob for making it to Circulators. Susan and Marilyn provided birthday cakes for Tom Strickland. A correction! Susan informed me that she did not provide a lemon cake for Tom but it was Caroline that provided the cake.
The first dance of 2014 has come and is gone.
John Ramsey called our first Plus level dance of 2014 on 1/10 and we danced 5 squares at times. Broken Wheel came with enough to raid our banner which was great to have them with us as usual. Caroline won the cake walk prize which was brought by Carolyn
Our theme of the evening was PJs and Pies so several of our members and guests showed up in their jammies which you can see below in the picture that was taken at the dance.
The free dance pass given to a member that had donated refreshments for the snack table went to Lori and then Lori drew my wife’s ticket for the 50/50 drawing.
11/22 Dance with Gene Hammond
On 11/23 we danced to Gene Hammond with as many as 5 squares. Gene had us do some unique formations like the one with 4 squares in one formation. Betty Clay won the free dance pass and Jan Waryk won the pie provide by Lenny Smith for the cake walk. A Brecksville dancer took home the 50-50. We announced that we had a successful banner retrieval from Brecksville on 11/15 and promptly returned our banner as they raided us at the dance. We also had dancers from Broken wheel at the dance.
Brecksville, Medina and Hubs are now have one of our banners.

Dance on 9/13
We had Danny Beck call for us on 9/13 to the enjoyment of all that were there and we had nothing but good luck.
We danced 4 squares most of the night and we were banner raided by Brecksville and Medina. We were visited by a couple from Temple Twirlers located in Florida and enjoy their company.
We are going to have to make a more concentrated effort to banner raid as we are out of banners and the only banners that we know the locations of are Brecksville and Medina. If anyone is out to a dance and sees one of our banners PLEASE let Bob Davis or Erika Toth know where you saw the banner so that we can schedule a banner retrieval at that club. Thank You!
